RemTech 2009 Delegates Raise Over $48,000 for Charity... Thank-You!

The Remediation Technologies Symposium (RemTech) was held October 14-16, 2009 at the Fairmont Banff Springs in Banff. ESAA would like to thank all of the delegates who attended the event, all of the presenters who provided the technical content, and the exhibitors. A special thanks to all of the sponsors and supporters, with out your support an event of this size and calibre would not have been possible.

The big winners of the 2009 event were the Environmental Artworks Foundation of Alberta (EAFA), the Ilsa Mae Research Fund at Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) and The Calgary Zoo Conservation Fund. Nearly $48,000 was raised for these charities. In the past four years the industry through RemTech has donated nearly $235,000 to charity.

      RemTech 2009 Opening Reception and Casino

      "RemTechaLot" - "A knight of silly fun and networking."

      All delegates attending the reception will receive $10,000 in fun money - additional money is available for a small donation to the Ilsa Mae Research Fund. At the end of the evening the fun money can be turned in for draw tickets for various prizes.

      "Pluck a Duck" - The Duck Pond Game

      At the Artworks reception on Thursday you will have the opportunity to purchase a duck fo $5 or 3 for $10. You will pick a duck out of a barrel. The specially numbered duck will indicate how many draw tickets you will receive for one of the following 7 prizes:

      You have seen the game on "The Price is Right" now play it at RemTech. Visit the PROECO Corporation booth in the tradeshow and try your luck. You will also be able to try your luck during the Artworks reception on Thursday. $2 per try or 3 for $5. The numbered slot that your chip lands in will equal number of draw tickets you will received.

      50% of the proceeds raised will be donated to Artworks and 50% will go to one lucky player. In addition, PROECO Corporation have also donated $1,000 to be split between the charity and the winner.

ESAA would like to thank all of the delegates who attended the event, all of the presenters who provided the technical content, and the exhibitors. A special thanks to all of the sponsors and supporters, with out your support an event of this size and calibre would not have been possible.

The big winners of the 2008 event were the Environmental Artworks Foundation of Alberta (EAFA), the Ilsa Mae Research Fund at Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) and The Calgary Zoo Conservation Fund. A record $78,523 was raised for these charities. In the past three years the industry through RemTech has donated nearly $185,000 to charity. To everyone who made a donation or donated an item - an enormous thank-you!

A special thanks to all of the sponsors and supporters, with out your support an event of this size and calibre would not have been possible.

The big winners of the 2007 event were the Environmental Artworks Foundation of Alberta (EAFA), the Ilsa Mae Research Fund at Muscular Dystrophy Canada (MDC) and The Calgary Zoo Conservation Fund. A record $53,700 was raised for these charities. (EAFA - $22,800, Ilsa's Fund - $24,200, Calgary Zoo - $6,600) In the past three years the industry through RemTech has donated nearly $106,000 to charity. To everyone who made a donation or donated an item - an enormous thank-you!
