Infrastructure Program

in this region.

Requirements
Update by a representative of the Industrial
Security Directorate, PWGSC, to outline the stringent requirements
for Organization Security Screening necessary to conduct

the booth)

Federal
Contaminated Sites Action Plan (FCSAP)
The presentation will provide an overview of the FCSAP
program, discuss progress and key program accomplishments
to-date along with challenges encountered. Particular focus
will be given to the impact of Canada's Economic Action
Plan in terms of accelerated funding provided and the increased
demand on industry to meet requirements to complete projects
in upcoming years.

Reclamation
of Giant Mine Site Yellowknife - A Major Project Case Study
Description of the Remediation Plan calls for the long-term
storage and maintenance of the 237,000 tonnes of arsenic
trioxide dust stored in sealed mine chambers and stopes
underground using the Frozen Block Method. The Remediation
Plan also outlines activities to demolish the more than
100 buildings and facilities on the surface of Giant Mine,
and covering of the tailings ponds.

Working
on DND Remediation Projects with Defence Construction Canada
The presentation will outline Defence Construction
Canada's (DCC) mandate and relationship with the Department
of National Defence (DND). A description of ongoing remediation
projects currently managed by DCC will be presented along
with how environmental contractors and consultants can pursue
work with DCC.

The Deloitte
– SDTC Western Canada Cleantech Report
Cleantech in Western Canada is likely to be one of the leading
bright spots for economic growth and jobs. However, cleantech
companies also face significant challenges, such as access
to capital, acquiring new customers and hiring the right
expertise. The presentation will highlight the report’s
findings, including the key challenges and opportunities
facing the cleantech industry in Western Canada, based on
survey responses from cleantech companies located in BC,
Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Cleantech commercialization,
growth trends, customers segments, financing, government
programs and adoption trends will be examined.
